1957 Buick Century torque tube elimination

Members, I have a 1957 Century with no drive train... want to keep the open drive train. Understand the importance of the torque tube in the entire picture of the rearend. Have heard about different options to replace the tube with...4 link, which is a generic kit .. torque tube eliminator kit, made for the 57’...but spendy ...also told about a 60’s c-10 trailing arms..in combo with stock Panhard bar...
can someone go into detail on exactly which year, what parts, how to install..and any pics if possible.
Just for info...going to put a 401 nailhead paired with a switch pitch tranny, putting a early 60’s pumpkin in the stock differential.
thanks for any and all help

I am not sure you are going to find the specifics you are asking for easily.

Most people who do such change overs start by choosing the rear end they feel will fit best width wise. The best situation is to have at least the rear half of the frame. This gives you some brackets and crossmembers which, if lucky, can simply be modified to fit the new frame. Brackets can be moved in and out on the rear end housing.

An advantage of aftermarket 4-links is their adjustability for realigning the rear end (pinion angles) if you can't locate brackets close enough to where they were on the old frame (usually a result of ride height changes).
