    Need help with codes

    I’m needing help decoding the Skylark is just bought. Here are the codes I haven’t found:
    MK221
    T
    BF4928
    C14
    C60
    J50
    N40
    U73
    RRR
    I do know it’s a 401 GS, but as of yet I haven’t confirmed if it’s numbers matching. Thanks for the help!

    It would be helpful if we knew where these codes are coming from (POP, buildsheet, trim tag, etc.) and to get a picture.

    MK221
    T
    BF4928
    C14
    C60
    J50
    N40
    U73
    RRR

    MK221
    this looks like the transmission code, would need to see a picture because there is either a misstamp or you read it wrong/made a typo because in 1965 the transmission code NK was for ST300 automatic for 401 V8, Skylark GS

    221 would be the build date code

    T
    if this is from the POP then it would be the build month, T = June 1965

    BF4928
    BF = built at Fremont, CA
    4958 = body number
    this could be found on either the POP, buildsheet, or the trim tag under the hood

    C14 = Windshield Washer and Dual Speed Wipers
    C60 = Air Conditioning
    J50 = Power Brakes
    N40 = Power Steering
    U73 are you sure this is correct? it could be U63 = Radio - Sonomatic

    RRR, not an option code, would need to see a picture to decode but probably the paint code for solid Flame Red

    Thanks for all the help! I did get those numbers from the POP. And it appears the “MK221” is correct. Could it be a mistake on the POP? I will upload a pic when I’m able. I really appreciate this information. This is my first classic car, it great having this kind of community.

    I think it is probably just a mistake on the POP, definitely not the first one I've seen. You can always check to see what is actually stamped on the transmission. Here is a link from the 1966 chassis service manual that shows were to find the numbers:
