    Asbestos in firewall liner?

I'll be insulating my '41 Buick with Dynamat. I've already patched and painted my floors and I'm about to remove the firewall liner to patch some unwanted holes, paint and insulate. Does anyone know what this material is, and whether it contains asbestos? I always figured when I removed the large screws I'd be able to take it off in one piece, but it looks like it's glued to the firewall. I can get it tested for asbestos by a local outfit, but I'd rather put that $60 toward car parts if someone on here knows the answer. Here's a shot of the material in question...Thanks.

See if it will burn. Asbestos would be used to prevent burning. Most I have seen is by now dried out highly flammable tinder.
Either way use gloves, mask and a spray bottle to keep dust down, put in a garbage bag and say goodbye. You are more likely to get sick from rodent ****, pee and carcasses.
