Well I guess never mind, since the picture is showing.
Hello From Sneads Ferry, NC. I have a 1962 Buick Special 2dr Coupe. I bought it when I lived in San Deigo, but the military stationed me in this area. Prior to the move, the car was never out of Southern California. Currently I'm rebuilding the transmission and replacing the 198 V6 with a 215 V8. The only issue I'm having is finding a new filter for the transmission. If anyone has a lead on the filter I would greatly appreciate the help. Also I tried to add a picture of the car, but I keep getting an error message.
Well I guess never mind, since the picture is showing.

I tried them, they have a part number for one but told me they haven't had one in a while and don't know if they will ever get anymore.
Buick Parts Books show it as Strainer, transmission oil suction, part no 5577351. That number was later superceded by 1352583. Used only on '61-63 Specials. No crossovers to another make could be found.
www.phillipsmusclecarparts.com shows one in stock under the old no.
www.charlietranny.com shows a used cleanable filter available.

Thanks for the information and links. I ended up rinsing out the filter I have in a solvent tank at work. It seems like something that is supposed to be used again. Hopefully I'm right since paying almost $100 for a new filter doesn't seem awesome for the wallet.
