    help with Engine Identification

    Hello,

    I am also a newbie. Need help with Engine Identification. 1st of 5 moderated posts. Hopefully. Are threads in there for numbers not listed in the reference section? Thanks-

    casting numbers are thin for a lot of the small block production, but that's not really specific enough anyways.

    you want to find the EIN ( variant of the VIN that does not include model and body style info ) and Engine Code ( two letter ) stampings and that will tell you everything you can find out about the original application and specification of the engine.
