The smog accessories from my car are on a shelf. But I like to drive the car, and it is not a show car. If someone wants to restore it to original one day the pump is there., but it's up to you.
Hi all recently picked up a 66 GS factory 4 speed car.. She needs some help but very worth restoration. Problem, she is a CA car and has the orig smog set up.. I cannot seem to find a source for parts but I do not want to make modifications that will destroy value. So looking for opinions, pull the smog off, plug the holes restore the car... Or attempt to clean up the smog and leave it orig to the car? Typically I would say not to modify anything as it destroys value but looking for opinions in the buick world..
Thanks in advance.

the more you run it, the more wear and tear the smog parts get.
as you say, where can you find this junk?
if you're going to restore it and park it ... why?
if you're going to run it, slather the smog parts in oil and put them in storage. the car will run better and you'll get better performance and the smog parts will stay "good".

To me the value is in the original 1966 Riviera not the add-on smog system.
It's ugly looking and detracts from the beauty of the 425.
It must have been designed by a plumber and it's even imposible to change the water thermostate without great difficulty in removing the brackets.
Why anyone would think it adds value to the car is beyond me.
