Thread: 364 carburetor

    364 carburetor

Anyone know what the proper make and size carb was on the 1960 Buick Lesabre? Mine has a Carter 4BBL on it now. As the weather changes here in Michigan I am having choke issues and thought if the one I have on it was not factory equipment I would return it to the factory issue carb. Given the gas pedal/carb start switch would the correct carb/choke set-up be hard to find? Thanks!

    Bob:

Regarding the Team Buick's on-site carb chart as per your link above.
I am looking at the following carbs for 1957 Buick:

    2507S, 2625S, 2800S, 2840S, 2877S, 2981S, 2982S

Now can someone tell me did Buick install these numbered carbs randomly or systematically due to when and or which factory a given car was produced?

For example would the 2507S be an early install and the 2982S a latter install or would any and all of these carbs of been installed at any given GM Buick factory at anytime/anywhere during the entire 1957 production run??
    Thanks in Advance!

I don't have one, but if you find one & need it rebuilt I CAN do that.
