Hey everyone,
Just a quick post to work on my newbie-ness and join the groups.
I recently picked up a 1955 Special 4dr hardtop, 264/dynaflow.
My first car was a 1959 Oldsmobile back when I was 16, and miss having an old hunk of 50's GM steel to drive around, so when I found the Special I couldn't say no.
It also happens to be in similar colors to my old Olds, green and white, so it was a no brainer.
I'm starting to tear into the car (with the intention of doing as little as possible to get it SAFE and on the road), starting with the locked up engine. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions if anyone can advise. This is my first engine build, so I'll be needing guidance for sure. It is the 264 w/ 2 barrel Carter.
Will post more about my current state of necessary disassembly elsewhere on the forum.
Thanks, and hopefully I can be of some help to someone someday too!

if the 264 turns out to not be salvageable, a 322 is the same size externally and is probably more common. 364 is a taller deck but could probably also fit quite easily.
