Here is a supplemental drawing of the system used on the Century and Skylark convertibles which continued to use hydraulic window lifts for '54. Power from the breaker goes to terminal B on all 4 switches. Power to the Hydro-Lectric pump motor solenoid comes from terminal M on all 4 switches. Power to the valve in the window cylinder comes from terminal C on each window switch.
Pages from the '48-49 Shop Manual attached show the internals of the switch contacts when raising or lowering a window. The switch energizes the pump and the cylinder valve during RAISE. It energizes only the cylinder valve during LOWER.
The LF switch is a part no 4641074, also used on '54 Oldsmobiles with hydraulic window lifts. Reproduction switches are available from www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com according to their Website.

Thank You so much for those diagrams. I have all the windows working now except for the LF. Had to order a hydraulic cylinder. Solenoid was sticking. Thanks Again. T. Brown
Well, I got the windows working, after replacing the LF cylinder. Now a new problem. Every time I run the top or the windows up and down, it pisses fluid out the weap hole on the pump. I spoke with Paul at Hydro-E-Lectric in Punta Gorda and he said to make sure I did not have too much fluid and I don't. As a matter of fact I even took a little out to see if it would stop. Any ideas? tomb.
