    1965 buick wildcat

Hi. I have a 1965 Buick wildcat conv't and just had it painted. There is some paint on the chrome and I was told that if I use 00 steel wool it will take it off without scathing the chrome. I was also told that you can use it to brighten up the chrome and use on the glass without scathing the glass. Can anyone verify this. Thank You Russ.

if it's so easy to do, why didn't the paint shop clean it up?

i don't know about this steel wool idea. i'd ask them if there was a problem with using a paint thinner on the chrome.

mineral spirits or acetone is what i'd be looking at.

    Don't use 00 steel wool! use 000 or 0000

I would not go back to that shop, that's sloppy work to not tape off properly

If it's actually on the chrome you could probably chip it off with your fingernail.
