Hey all,
So I'm looking to replace my cam since the one currently in my '54 is junk.
After looking around the internet I came across 'Schneider Racing Cams', they have 7 options available (http://schneidercams.com/buick_nailhead-hyd.aspx) and they all seem to be going for about 250$, wich for any that I have seen is thesame as a stock one would cost me at the minimum. Does anyone have any experience with them? I've read mostly positive stuff so far around the interwebz.
Now I do have '56 lifters and rods in the '54 allready, and 1:6 rocker arms, but from what I have gathered all the cams are thesame for '53-'56 right?
Also replacing all my lifters (again) just to be sure and found '56 lifters at 'Rockauto' that are alot cheaper than the ones I got last time locally. They are made by EngineTech, are they any good? (http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo....319969&jsn=288)
Sorry for all the questions, but with the cost of shipping to Europe I rather like to get it right the first time
schneider cams are just as good as any others out there , we ran em in our flatheads and early mopars. now as for 53,54,55,56 all being the same they're NOT. all but the 56 had steel billet cams and had to run steel lifters, 56 run a iron cam and ran iron lifters , don't mix up lifters to cams .
sounds like your doing just what i'm doing here making a 56 motor out of a 54. good luck on the project and keep us posted.
