    Oil Pressure sending unit

Can anyone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is on a 1963-65 Buick V6. I've looked all over and can't find one. When the engine runs there is no oil squirting out from anywhere. Thanks

225ci v6 is covered in the 1966 Chassis Manual

oil systems are covered at pages 60-13 and 60-31. stock location for the idiot light is in the timing cover and i think that's where the factory puts the pressure sender as well.

if you're putting a REAL gauge in, that's not where you want the sender to be though. you want the sending unit plumbed into the one of the oil galleys at the REAR of the block. you wipe out the #2 main bearing and oil pressure at the timing cover might still look okayish ... but nothing at the rear of the engine is getting lubed. that will destroy the engine.

    Thanks Bob

Thanks Bob for the info. And, yes I am installing a REAL oil pressure gauge. This engine is in a 1963 Willys Wagon and it has the gauge in the dash. I have the tubing and connections to the gauge but I'll need to find a sending unit to install. I haven't researched that yet, but where would I look for a unit? Thanks - I appreciate your help. - Jim

The gauge sounds like the mechanical type since tubing runs from the engine to the gauge. No sending unit is used. The pipe fittings are all that is needed to bring pressurized oil up into the gauge.
