Welcome to the 1950 BUICK crowd, Jim. Pretty simple cars. We will help all we can.

I just purchased a 1950 Buick Jetback 43D and I like it I intend to get it into running condition and drive it as my personal transport. She is a bit dog eared at this point, but new upholstery and a two tone paint job and Coker wire wheels should make her more presentable. I do all my own work, so time passes between events. I am old and slow. I'm a part of the "I Pee a Lot" crowd. I am no dummy, and I will need help and I welcome advice from anyone. I know squat about Buicks and won't pretend I do. I am very mechanically inclined.
Howdy,

i don't know if the 52 shop manual will be helpful, but it's the oldest thing Bob has:

i'm told the 248 does share a lot of similarities to the 263.

I already have a 1950 Shop Manual, but thank you anyway. Right now the one thing I need is the driver side Hood Release bracket that bolts under the dash. For some reason, mine is missing. The pull handle just hangs down like a bird with a broken wing. Do you know anyone parting out a 50 Buick?
Regards,
Jim
