Looks like a THM400 out of an 1985 Cadillac. That would be a 3 speed. 85AA
Hey guys, I’ve picked up a working auto here in Australia for a box of beer, problem is I don’t know what it is. I know it came out of a Buick just not sure what. I’ve put a picture of the I’d tag, can anyone help let me know what it is and what they were like. It is supposed to be a 4speed....

Do you know if there is a site about BOP transmissions

Its a GM transmission. The only thing BOP about it is the bell housing. This page may help. Look at the pan shape and count the number of pan bolts. The picture of the tag you posted looks like a THM400. Maybe it is a 4L80E? Does it have a vacuum modulator? A bigger electrical connection? Post a picture of the entire transmission and pan.

That looks like a THM2004R. It has 16 pan bolts. AA is a Cadillac transmission.
