Tips for removing rusty side mirror on driver's side?

20171019_182109.jpg Got the passenger side mirror installed. But it was incredibly difficult to reach the nuts with a 10mm box wrench. Had to do it blind. Luckily this side had already been replaced once before and once I got them loose, I was able to get them off by hand.

That was hard enough. But the nuts on the driver's side are so old and rusted, one came out with the stud. And I can't seem to reach the last one on this side. Not well enough to crank on it and get it out.

How am I supposed to do it? Special tools again?

It's a piece of cake according to the shop manual (see attached). No mention of special tools. It does show light torque needed on the nuts.

Not being present to examine the accessibility, possibly a small 1/4" drive socket set maybe with a universal joint would work better than a box-end wrench.

It looks like these shop manuals are about as useless as the haynes and chiltons books when it comes to these cars.

They design these cars so only specialists who work specifically on these cars all day every day can fix them properly. That's a bad business decision in my book and I'd never buy a car or truck like this. It reminds me of the evil giant Microsoft that still terrorizes most computer users.

Just like with microsoft, all people need to do is stop taking the abuse. Stop buying the lies. So simple.

But, people, in general, are fools who don't care about freedom or liberty. They take on slavery like they missed it.

So anyway, this car sucks. And I now suspect any gm car sucks. I got the side mirrrors on even though it was huge PITA, had to duct tape my wrists to keep from cutting them on the sharp metal and they're still all bruised up.

With the lack of online support, the vague and mostly useless service manuals, and this ridiculous vats system trying to give ME permission as to wh3n I can start this car, I wish I could afford to have this car crushed, just for the satisfaction of seeing it obliterated.
