hello, does anyone have a factory 1970-1972 350/ 4 speed car? I'm converting my 1972 skylark to a 4 speed and have almost everything to start the swap. all i need now is my clutch kit and clutch rod.
I cant seem to find a Buick clutch rod for small block, only 400-455. and I a curious to see what the differences are?
I will also have to drill the hole for the bell crank bolt that goes into the rear of the engine block. If anyone has a factory Buick 350 4 speed car it would be greatly appreciated if pictures could be shared!
Pete, the parts book may have the answers. The clutch release rod is a spear-shaped piece, part no 9779202. That looks to be a Chevy part number. It was also used by all the other GM divisions making 4-speed cars. It shows to be readily available by Googling the part number. One supplier is www.4speedconversions.com
The upper clutch operating rod is a part no 401080. That one looks to be an Olds number. It too shows to be available. Attached are a couple of pages from the '72 parts book showing the clutch linkage.
