Can someone tell me what this original module does on the bott of the throttle linkage. I just added a '65 4bbl manifold and Edelbrock 500 cfm carb and I left it hooked it up until I figured out what it does/did and if I still need it?

It's the kickdown/switch-pitch switch for a TH400 Trans.
