Twin turbine Dynaflow in 52' Roadmaster?

    Hello Forum
I have at 52 Roadmaster with a 320 straight 8 and single turbine Dynaflow.

Does anyone know if the "old Dynaflow" (up to 52) is interchangable with a 53+ /twin turbine Dynaflow (and fits my engine)?

I am going to have my transmission refitted with new gaskets etc. and thought that I might upgrade the trans to a twin turbine version if possible (I know that it was paired with the 322 Nailhead from the factory).

Thank you for many good threads and a whole lot of quality reading!

    Kind Regards

I have a 52 Super. I installed a 53 twin turbine along time ago and it works fine. I had to change something at the universal joint from the old dynaflow to the new one. What an improvement.

Thanks for your input suntreemcanic. Very good news from my perspective indeed!

I hope I can keep the exterior as it is and just change some of the interior parts, strator, turbine, etc. in the converter (on the inside of the transmission)? Hopefully it's possible to get the parts second hand on eBay or perhaps from Bobs automobilia or Cars/Old Buick Parts?
A refurbished trans from a specialized trans shop would of course also be super, but I don't know if that is possible i Europe/Denmark/Sweden?

When I changed from the single turbine to the twin turbine I did not have to buy anything. All I had to change came from the single turbine and exchanged them onto the twin turbine. If I remember correctly the end half of the u-joint from the old transmission had to be used because the splines on the new transmission do not match up with the splines on the drive shaft. I think that was all the was. Everything on the front of the new transmission bolts right up, thats from straight eight 263 to straight eight 263.
