Yes, buick red.
Hey All,
Recently purchased my first Buick. Appears to be an unmolested 1970 LeSabre with the 455. Had the engine rebuilt and it is finally about to go back in but I believe the tech may have painted it the wrong color... He told me the 455s were Chevy orange but I've dug through some of the posts and looks like it is supposed to be Buick red? Please advise! If he's wrong I need to get it fixed before they put it back in.

uh, the engine tech thinks Chevy orange is a valid Buick engine color?
that scares the hell out of me.
you'd better make a point of asking him what he set bearing clearances at. get the actual numbers, in thousandths.
if he tried to build this loose and sloppy like a Chevy there's a good chance that engine is going to kill the bearings before you get ten thousand miles on it. definitely keep one eye on the oil pressure gauge at initial startup.

The actual engine work was done by Auto Dynamic Engines and Transmissions in Casper, Wy so I'm cautiously optimistic. Appreciate all the help so far! Will have lots of pics and questions in the future.
