    1976 Buck S/R

I recently purchased a 1976 Buick Skylark S/R. It originally came from Texas then was driven to Nova Scotia, Canada in 2012 and is now with me in Newfoundland. It has a 231 V6 and only 37,000 miles. This is my third 1976 Skylark. Previous two were a coupe and four door sedan.

very nice. being from Texas, it probably never saw much salt.

how did the paint job hold up or did it get sunburnt?

1976 will still be the odd fire 231, i think. should be a fairly simple upgrade to swap in an 80s turbo 6 or Buick 350 if you decide on an engine swap.

Luckily the Skylark was garage kept, good paint, vinyl top is good, good interior. With only 37,000 miles it will be kept original while I have it in my care.

the vinyl is still cherry? ****, that's some pretty good care it got.

how far off the ocean are you? salt air can do a lot of damage over extended periods as well. might want to consider rust coating the belly pan and giving the suspension components a layer oil every so often. but you probably know that already.

bob, I live pretty well right on the ocean, even on a calm day you can smell the salt air, lol. The vinyl top is in remarkable shape. From what I was told the car was always garage kept when not in use. I did have it oil sprayed underneath and always keep it in the garage when I'm not driving it. My previous 76 Skylark was from Florida and it's vinyl top was in bad shape from the heat.
