Hey all...new owner of a 53 Buick Special 2 door

Hey all,
I can't remember if I did this when I initially signed up. I purchased (rescued) a 53 Special from a 2 year sentence in a field outside of Denver, CO. It is in really good shape...some minor damage to the passenger lower door and front quarter which includes the spear trim. I believe I can smooth it out or get it pretty close. I began in earnest this weekend to work on it. Seats are removed and all the mouse houses and stuffing has been disposed of. I spent about 16 hours removing the hood, engine, trans, cross member, inner and outer fenders. Basically I have a bare frame up front with the steering box and linkages in tact so I can roll it around the shop. The car had a marking to the left of the data plate......6 6 6.... Kinda ominous when I saw it. It looks like it has been there for decades....maybe put there by a tech as it rolled down the assembly line? So far there hasn't been any issues working on the beast. Guess I will know as I get further into it.

You certainly did "begin in earnest." I have owned a very similar 1951 Special model 48D (deluxe 2 door sedan) since September of '91. Had I begun as you did, I might have gotten it into proper shape before 2015.
Are you planning to restore it, rod it, or just get it back on the road?
