    Nailhead numbers

    Hi I'm a NEWBIE here just trying to find out some information....just bought a Nailhead for a T bucket project and would like to know how to find out the year from the serial number on the block. This is the number...7J1057352. Can someone HELP or tell me where to find out this info? Thanks

    The J indicates 1963. The first 7 indicates engine came from a Riviera. It could be a 401 or 425 cid.

    The 63 Riv engine was originally painted silver. There is a two letter production code across fro the serial number on the passenger side of the same surface. It will be followed by a three number date code: JT = 401, JW = 425. There were not many 425s in 63. So I would guess it is a 401.
