Buick used a universal strap part # 1337567 for replacement on 1938-58 models. Attached is a service bulletin showing the dimensions for bending the strap to fit each model.
A quick search on on line by the part number did not turn up any for sale. One idea would be to use a universal strap from one of the aftermarket tank suppliers. They may be able to match one for the Buick using the attached drawings and dimensions taken from an old strap (if you have one).
One vendor www.tanksinc.com sells universal tanks for older Buicks. Their universal strap # UMS looks like it might work and is inexpensive.
