    My '47 Buick

Just a bit of info on my car.
1947 Buick Super mod 51 and original RHD. The rebuild is coming along and has been a body off, complete pull down. I can say that not a single nut/bolt has not been undone, tapped and cleaned during the process.
Rebuilt engine with a +30 tho over bore and new everything. Changed the rods to later ones with bearing inserts to make life easier and modified the oil system to incorporate a full flow oil filter by diverting the pump out- put thru the filter and back into the main oil gallery. Added a washer or two to the pressure relief valve and have about 65 psi hot at a fast idle.
Not sure if it was worth the effort or the heart-ache of boring holes and tapping them in the block but it works fine and the engine will run for another 70 years without too much wear. It also looks good and will **** off the purists a bit!
As will the power assist front discs, Edmunds twin carby manifold and custom, mandrel bend headers. Running an alternator and compressor for the A/C.
Body has just been painted (black) and looks really good. Finishing up the doors, guards and all the other hang-on bits, then off to paint.
Hope to finish by November. Presently installing a new wiring harness--looks better than an original with all the correct coloured wires and period correct for the add-ons such as the A/C and spotlights.
Hope I live long enough to enjoy it as we are both the same age--- 1947 vintage and part of the post war baby boom here in Australia.

Thanks for the opportunity to type a few words.

    John
