71 Skylark GS350 intake/air cleaner cover..

Hello friends.. I have the GS350 snorkle hood and intake, however the previous owner only has a regular 14x3 air filter and cover sitting in the 16.5" snorkle tray.. obviously, the hot air from the engine bay is going into the carb, instead of forced air thru the snorkles.. I have attached a pic to show the gap...

I'm finding it difficult to find a true GS cover for the air cleaner that will seal out the hot engine bay air. I measured 16.5" across... everywhere there are 17" diameter covers for the GS455 system, but not for my GS350... I have scoured eBay, Amazon, spoken with Edelbrock and K&N directly, and no luck. I can find many 17" air cleaner covers, sites claim it will fit, but my tape measure says 16.5".... Any insights or help out there? The pic keeps attaching upside down, my apologies.

The 71 shop manual indicates 5 different air cleaners were used on Buicks that year with one being specific to the GS cars. No mention about a difference in the GS350 cleaner from the GS455 unit. Only one filter element part number is shown for GS cars.

I don't have a good parts book covering these items for 1971. One printed in 1970 shows the same part numbers for air cleaners on the GS350 & the GS455 for 69 and for 70 models. The only variations within the GS cars by engine size looks to be the foam filler pieces under the hood and the labels.

No, not that I could see... I need the 17" GS350 air cleaner cover.. not shown in anybody's catalogs.. just the standard 14x3 sizes.. do you have any other resources? See attached pic...
