Hi from a Jeep Newbie in the North Detroit burbs

    Hi,

I have a 1968 Wagoneer thats been sitting in my garage for 15 years. I finally decided to do something with it. Just Pulled that beautiful Buick 350 and I'm trying to peice together all the info I can to make it run for another 40 years. This site seems to be the place to get reliabl info.

Funny you ask. Just found out how to I.D. it from this site. The engine code is missing from the deck and other visual clues tell me this has either been rebuilt or it is a re-man. The engine is out and the exhaust manifolds are off. I just need to remove the PS pump tonight and see if the serial number matches up with a 1968 jeep. I pray to god its not a late model post 1970 engine. Which means I loose about 80 hp right off the batt.

The thing ran like a top when I broke it down. Found the heat riser valve was locked half-way shut so I have no idea how this motor should have felt power wise. It seemed a little dogish.
