nice. obviously need some more gears in that thing. you going to bump the engine as well or are you going the power adder route?
Hi All,
Last weekend my neighbor made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
I am now the new owner of a 1967 Buick Skylark Special Deluxe.
It has the 300-2bbl- 2spd auto.
It's mostly all original.
But it won't be.
My dad was a Buick man. I learned to drive in a 66 Wildcat 401ci 3 speed.
Drove it to school until I bought my own car.
Man it could do burnouts!
Just rebuilt the carb this weekend. Just so I can drive it a bit this summer.
I'll be tearing into it next winter.
In the meantime, I'll be stocking up on parts.

Currently I have 2 options.
If my neighbor can find the 455 he bought for it years ago, I'll be going with a slightly modified Buick build. He says he has the Star Wars cleaner too. Most likely stay auto (T400; 4L80E; etc)
If no 455; I'll be going crazy. Blown LSx with T-56

hah, that air cleaner can easily be worth more than the engine, depending on condition.
assuming he digs up the 455 we can help you figure out whether you've got an awesome one ( 1970 ) or a wimpy one ( 75-76 ).
base OEM configuration will make a big difference. the only way to make a 75-76 go well is to replace the heads, due to the 7.6:1 compression.
also be sure to check out the oiling mods thread and get a power timed HEI distributor on it.

yeah, really hoping the 455 option wins out. It'll be the quickest way to a driver.
Stay tuned
