are you sure 1931-34 are the years you're looking for?

i show that 1930 was the last year of Buick I-6 ( 213, 258 and 331ci ) production with all engines moving to the I-8 form factor in 1931 ( 221, 273 and 345ci ). a straight 6 wouldn't be seen in a Buick again until the 1960s when some of the base models had a Chevy I6 installed.

you might also want to check with the AACA ( Antique Auto Club of America ) forums.

The poster has been asked on AACA.org what he really needs.
Is not clear what car he has (exact model) and what engine or engine parts he needs.
Various photos have been posted, but no idea if these photos are of his car/engine or what he wants.

Explain! I'm looking for any old engine for BUICK models 32-90. I attached a different image for an example. It is not mine engines. It is now clear?

most engines have two ports ( intake and exhaust ) per cylinder. on an 8 cylinder engine, this means 16 ports. your top picture shows an engine with only 12 ports.

i spaced out and forgot that the Buick straight 8s share a single intake port for each pair of cylinders ( siamese twins ), which gives you 8 exhaust ports and 4 intake ports for a total of 12. i could have counted the cylinder barrels and figured that out ... this is what i get for posting while sleepy.

anyways, sorry for the confusion and good luck with your search. i show that the 345ci was actually available into the 1935 model year.

so far as the senior straight 8s go, the ( slightly ) more modern 320ci was available from 1936 to 1952 so there's a lot more of them around. i have no idea what would be involved in converting from 345ci to 320ci though. at a minimum, i wouldn't attempt a 320ci conversion unless i could get the engine and transmission as a package.

the sales listings at Pre-War Buick seem to be down at the moment
