Another Newb. (Engine swap in a street bucket.)

    Howdy,

Pulling a slant six out of a street bucket project, and replacing that with a '48 straight 248 I got (most of) in a parts swap. Been an inline fool all my life, but this'll be my first eight. No stranger to cars & rods, but will likely need my hand held for a bit 'til I get to know to this long Buick's particulars.

Looking to do a street build on this one, adding such speed improvements as won't substantially compromise reliability. Initial plans are for four SUs (I have on the shelf), adapting a slant flywheel, Oz slant clutch & QT bell, and slant gearbox. I do my own head work, but will shop out a bore & balance. Finish up with enough cam to balance it all out.

Will post pics of project when I'm allowed.

Yes, very nicely done. This'll be an unhurried build, so hope to get'er into that level of fit & finish.

No sweat,"Rats" aren't my thing, just home builts.
Here're a couple shots of "Cassi", the returning project I mentioned. The slant's already out.
I'll move the radiator back inside its shell to make room for the Buick.
