    Speedo Cable

'65 Wildcat driver in need of a functioning speedo cable, with the "plastic" spring loaded end that connects to the speedometer, and the normal metal screw-on end to the transmission.

Can't seem to find any for purchase through "normal" channels.

the Wildcat is a GM B-body car.

i would be quite surprised if the equivalent B-body model Chevy speedo cable didn't work.

try looking for a cable for a 1965 Caprice or Impala.

Sorry for the lateness in posting. Just now came across the AC Spark Plug catalog for Speedometer Cable and Casing from 1966 while hunting for something else.

It shows your car uses a type CC-214 cable and casing assembly. The only other cars that use that number are 1965 full size Buicks (except w/3-speed man. trans.) Looks like that upper ferrule connector is something pretty special. Similar NOS AC cable/casing assemblies show up on eBay from time to time.

AC also supplied bulk cable, casing, and end fittings to make assemblies up from scratch. Instructions and components of how to make one are shown in the back of the catalog. Don't know if there are any of these pieces (except for the inner core cable) available any longer. There is a place in San Antonio on the web that seems to be able to make up assemblies from scratch texasindustrialelectric.com

If it helps, the original Buick part number is 6451429 in case one should show up in a pile of parts for sale.
