    1957 Buick Special 2 Door Post 3 On The Tree 9351 Orig Miles! Questions?????

    Hi! new to Buick site & to Buicks! Just thought you would like to see a pretty neat car! Questions How Rare? Sought after? Worth anything? How do you fix Speedo barber pole style! I cleaned & lubed cable it was bone dry! Odometer works fine but speedo goes crazy! Tks in advance Bill @ Solo Speed Shop

    Questions How Rare? Sought after? Worth anything?

    unfortunately, the Special is the entry level model. so, as far as 57 Buicks go, not that rare or desirable. i do like the looks of the 57 Bu though.

    all engines were 364 Nailheads in 57, the Special came with the low compression 2 barrel carb version, 250hp. power upgrades would be straightforward, you can either bump it to 4v spec or just swap in a 425ci Nail.

    check out our reference page. it's got production numbers and Bob is also hosting the Chassis Manual. that may have service recommendations for the speedo:
