    Valve Cover Identification

Hi, could we get a rundown of how to identify valve covers. Specifically pictures of them. I have a 68 skylark custom and I dont know if i should have the valve cover 350-2/4 decal in the center or not. Thank you.
    Which is which?

Bob's post says 400 has ribs with displacement label relief area. But what about 350s? I see all these restored cars online and they have 350-2 and 4 labels on the valve covers.

    perhaps call TAPerformance.com?

i know they've got the valve cover labels in their catalog, they might know when / where the label is to be placed. pg 165-166 in the 2015 catalog.

i don't know if the 67 chassis manual might have an engine detail that would tell you enough:

    well, it's a 200 page catalog.

they might have one or two things of interest in there.

I just wanted to post one more time and make sure that I understand, are we saying that buick manufactured full ribbed and not full ribbed valve covers for the 350s but there was no rhyme or reason as to what car or engine or year got them? Thanks.

    A: i have no idea.

you might try calling the guys at AM&P, they've built a few SBB 350s.

the other alternative would be to talk to Sean Gaskin, he was putting a book together on the BBB / SBB stuff.
