263 transmission Problems

So the my engine finally runs perfect on the other hand my trans has totally gave out. First it would throw 1st gear out now it won't go into any gear. I need to know if there's a way to take the tranny out without removing the engine. An if so how do I do it. Also what can be the problem of why it doesn't go into gear anymore?

Check the linkage first.

Here is the 1952 shop manual. A '52 Special is basically the same as a '53 Special: http://www.teambuick.com/reference/library/52_shop/

You really think it could be the linkage? I've checked it and everything looks the same

yes linkage. was your engine pulled? this is a Dynaflow?

I've check the linkage multiple times and it all looks correct. The engine was never pulled out. Nothing was ever pulled out. The last time it actually moved it smelled like burned. Smoke everywhere and the car didn't wanna move anymore. I think my clutch may have burned out. Anyone know any place I can take it to, to get a new clutch?
