I'm trying to identify if the engine in my 68 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible is original to the car. The numbers on the block say "K PO 390" I have searched the threads but can't seem to find out what the "K" or the 390 means. I see that PO means it was a 1968 350 with 230 Horsepower & A 2 Barrel Carb. Any help identifying what the "K & 390" means would be great. Also is the last 6 of the vin stamped anywhere on the engine ??
390 is a build date code and K is probably the plant (K = Kansas City, MO) were the engine was built. The last 8 digits of the VIN should be stamped on the engine. See these threads:
