    51 Buick 263 lifter question

Can anyone help me out and tell me if the hydraulic lifters should fit flush in the top of the bore or do they come up when they spin? Thanks & I hope my question makes sense.

I hope you havent a worn out lobe on the cam...
You can check it while press the rod down an feel contakt to the lobe, then let turn the Engine by hand from a friend
or so (or without ignition by starter ) and look for it come up and down the same way like other ones.
