    1965 buick skylark

Hi to all, I am a classic car fan big time...I grew up in south Florida in 60's and loved the straight lines on chevelle, gto, tempest, gran prix ,nova, etc ....lately had been looking for that mid 60 style....well I found 65 skylark 2 door with the 310 wildcat or 300 (not sure which is correct term) and super turbin 300 trans ...I love the lines....

I want to convert to HEI...looking at Pertronix cause of $$ and installs in distributor..any ideas, concerns, besides obvious benefit over points ...I am not a fanatic about keeping oem...just want dependable daily driver....I believe in driving the car not just look at it...

Thanks to all for imput and suggestions on skylark and eng/trans....new to this model but have found car that makes me smile...

both are correct ... in their own way.

"310" is the amount of factory rated torque. "300" is the displacement in cubic inches.

simple enough, grab a distributor from a 74 or newer Buick 350. the HEI cap is larger than the points distro and you may have clearance problems ( especially with the air cleaner ), but that one would be plug and play.

should be cheap to get out of a junk yard, too.

TA also offers a Mallory distro for under $300.
