i can't answer directly, but here's the 71 chassis manual:

Hi, I have a numbers matching 1970 GS, and the body is rotted out. I bought a 71 skylark body in hopes of restoring it, but I talked with someone on how the trunk does not match up. Something about the 70 cars gas tanks were closed ventilation and the 71s were ventilated and that trunk can tell if its a 71 body nd such.
Can anyone assist me in this? I do not want to waste my money if this would be an issue.
Thank you
William

I know someone who has done a '71 body on a '70 frame. It wasn't that hard to do. It's basically about the fuel tank venting/emissions systems. '70 & '71 were closed systems.
