That part is very hard to find, the best way we have found is to re-balance a 322 damper to match the 264 spec's and then you can use the 322 pulleys. Contact use through the website.. Russ
Hi my name is Andrew, I'm from germany and I bought 3 years ago a 1955 Buick special.
and this year I restore the complete front
Now to my problembn I'm looking for a 2 grove pulley to convert my 1955 Buick special to power steering.
I already have the pump and gear box and 2 grove water pump pulley from a 1955 Buick parts car.
I need the 2 grove crank pulley to start the job.
Could anybody help me does anybody have one for sale
thanks, Andrew
These pulleys are hard to find. I have never tried this. It will require a machinist with a lathe. If you can find a blank pulley, the right diameter, belt width and the correct offset you could remove the center and drill out holes that will line up to the holes in the damper used for pulling it with a puller. These are already tapped. All of this would have to be done on a lathe by an experienced person and it would not be cheap but it might work. Maybe someone else could support my idea or blow it apart.
In my younger days I needed an extra groove on a pulley and took two crank pulleys, ground the center off one to wear it fit inside the other at the spacing I wanted, carefully lined everything up and welded it. It worked perfect. All I had was a stick welder, a grinder and some patience. It was for a sbc in a Corvette, I haven't looked at a 264 pulley, but there is a good chance something similar would work.
