Hello all! first time post and been a fan of the sight for a long while
im in need of some info on a transmission swap. i heard from an old packard guy that the old Borg warner 3 speed trans w/overdrive (1954) could be a realistic swap for my buick staight 8 51' 320
has anybody done this? i know these overdrives were in lots of cars. im building a early post war period model A roadster pickup and need to keep the trans young.
adaptors?
clutch?
articles?
links?
problems?
the overdrive is in excellent shape and was $50! and the buick would like to stay at low rpm on the highway (it told me)
thanks for your help!

thanks! its gonna be real neat
28' body/box highboy with shoebox rearend duece frame and split wishbone 37' tube axle... this chassis was dirt track raced in the 40's in WA
original 32 radiator/shell, chopped windshield, 40 ford wheels, f1 column/box
and a built open headered 320 lol
just waiting on my new front spring so i can finish mock up and hoping to make progress with this trans in the meantime and might even keep it 6 volt
Where you located?? Sounds like FUN.
