    NEED HELP IDENTIFYING MT CAR (71 skylark maybe GS)

    thanks to anyone who can help
    iv been restoring this car over the past year and now that im down to the last few details, so i need other details for insurance, licencing and at this point, curiosity.
    here is what i know:
    VIN: 4343771z115310
    4= buick
    34= gs or skylark v8
    37= 2-door hardtop coupe
    71= 1971
    Z = Fremont, CA (fun fact: Fremonts workforce at the time of my cars build was comparatively the worst in the country with examples of drinking on the assemble line, absenteeism, and sabotage [empty bottles inside doors to annoy customers])
    11510= ??
    i am unsure of the last few numbers as all the previous numbers point to a set of cars that never surpassed 10,000 units in any given year, also the 350 v8 is something a bit stranger to me, there is a small red tag on the bottom of the block that reads 'RE-MANUFACTURED' 547179 with #1227 in the corner, pretty sure its not stock but i doubt its new, any input on this thing would be much appreciated (link below)

    Your V.I.N. is 13 digits you show 14.

    Should read 434371Z115310

    The "1" indicates 1971

    The 115310 = the vehicle identification sequence number.

    You might be thinking of the Fisher Body ID sequence build number found on the Fisher Body plate
    located on top of the firewall on the left (drivers) side.

    As far as the engine, look at the cast number on the rear of the block. Could help in the engine assembly year.
