    WE have this late 50's or early 60's engine with the following number: Engine B9222332; can anyone give me an idea of what this engine came from ?

    Could be quite old. Someone can correct me, but if you look here:

    it only goes back to 1935, but there is a pattern to the numbers and if you continue the pattern it could be from a 1928 90 series.

    It's Canadian:

    B9222332

    B = 364 nailhead V8 from 4400 series (LeSabre)
    9 = automatic transmission
    222332 = sequential number, range for 1959 is 211004 to approximately 222905, because the ending number isn't known for certain it might be either a late 1959 or early 1960 engine.

    Post a picture of the engine and the serial number stamp if you can.

    Thanks Buford26. I will try to get a clear photo of the engine and serial number as well as the cylinder head casting number. hk

    So are you located in Canada or how did you acquire a Canadian built engine?
