you will sometimes hear references to a "Buick head" for the SBC.

this is a race head which adapted the racing Buick v6 combustion chamber and porting to the SBC style layout. it does NOT fit on any Buick block.

the Buick 350 was the last revision of the SBB design and they flopped the intake and exhaust valve orders from the earlier engines so you CANNOT use earlier style heads ( 215, 300, 340, Rover ) on the Buick 350.

TA Performance has a Buick 350 head and single plane intake coming, but they are not yet in production.

    Aluminium 350 heads

I got an e-mail from Sherri at TA Performance this week. She said they have prototype castings made and are working on cutter paths for finishing them. They will require the thru the pushrod oiling conversion on early engines and will work with TA's existing 10:1 pistions. She said they will be available later this year. There may be hope for us 350 nuts yet. At the time I didn't think to ask if they were going to try to improve the combustion chamber shape. Fast burn heads with some squish would be nice but would be hard to achieve with dished pistons I would think. I didn't ask about flow numbers either.

yeah, i've seen Sean's posts on this. i was going to make a news post when TA throws something up on their site.

first run sounds like it's going to be such small volume that they might be all spoken for though.
