    1947 roadmaster sedanette

Has anyone attempted to modify the rear side window tracks to allow the window to lower completely? Thinking in the last 60 years or so the engineering has become more clever to allow a fully open window.

admin: move if this is the wrong area.

    Ideas guys?

there's physically enough space down in the door for the window to be fully retracted?

if so, maybe there's a possibility that you could adapt a pickup truck mechanism that has sufficient stroke to your application?

Watching the original mechanism, it looks like the rear part can go down straight, for a bit, then the front part needs to continue down. This is something I have never messed with in 40 plus years of playing with cars.

A chime in from anyone who has worked with these regulators would be welcome.

    Thanks all
