    What could it be?

I have a 1966 buick riviera and I never had a problem with it overheating, just replaced the water pump and pull the freon out for winter storage and I decided not to put the compressor belts back on my car.
Now I noticed my heat is not working the fan is only blowing cold air and my car is reaching temps up 230 but not boiling over. Can anyone give me a check list before I put it in storage.

    Thanks

you've still got belts on the water pump, right? that sounds silly, i'm just trying to troubleshoot the obvious.

double check / replace the thermostat?

if you've got no heat and the engine is over 200 either the valve to heater core is not opening OR the water pump is not moving any water. ( i'm assuming here that your fan is running under the dash )

so we're looking for something that will stop water flow: bad pump, pinched hose, bad thermostat, etc
