    63 Skylark update

So I bought my Skylark convertible a week ago. When we tried to start it, it would just turn over and over. First thing we noticed was that the distributor was on backwards and the plug wires weren't in the right order.

After fixing those and changing the plugs, all that was left was the points. They looked new and clean but still we had nothing. So we replaced those. After setting the gap, putting everything back together, we hit the key. That 215 aluminum V8 didn't turn over once and that thing fired right up. It was great. It sounded like some of the lifters weren't adjusted or something so we didn't run it long.

The next day when I went out and started it, everything must have gotten some oil and lubed up, the lifters sounded fine and that thing just purrs.

Super excited about getting it on the road next Spring and driving that beauty all over.

Congrats on getting it up and running. That is a huge feel good moment.
