Newbie with a 1957 Buick Century Caballero

    Hi,

I just got a 1957 Buick Century Caballero. I have been around one for years, from a great friend of mine and I love them, so I just got this dificult project for me as my 49th birthday present.

Can anybody help me decode it's plate?

    Thanks,
    Victor

    Sean:

Thanks a lot for your help. I browsed a lot for info and I found the 1957 order form in the reference section. I don't see a 636 trim available. Black and ivory cordaveen (is that vynil?) is listed as 635, but my car does show the 636 number on the tag. The other thing that puzles me is that my Caballero shows that it had power brakes and signs of having A/C, at least the duct on top of the dashboard.

Another thing is that if you look closely, my plate shows a perforated N down on the left side.

My Caballero is lowsy, but I am getting a donor sedan in good original condition to do it.

Here goes the Power Brake "proof":

And here is the A/C proof, or what's left of it.

    Thanks again for your help.
