    1953 Super Wheel Dimensions

    Howdy,

Getting the family 1953 Buick Super from the grove, shortly. It's missing wheels. I need to know the center hole size and bolt thread sizes. I'm in AZ and it's in Neb so want to take along the correct stuff to get it up on wheels. I believe the bolt hole to bolt hole dimension, if you skip one bolt, is 4 3/4" like an older Olds. But it has a small pin hole also. The bolts are larger than the 1/2" X 20 ones on other stuff I have, but need to know exactly what they are.

    Thanks,

    DZ

The bolts are 9/16"-18. You can get them from RockAuto.

The wheel center hole is about 3-7/16", which is larger than most other GM 5 on 5" wheels, and the non-Buick GM wheels I have seen didn't have the hole for the locating pin.

Wow, thanks for the info. Three rims I had along for some reason had a hole for the pin, couldn't lift the car to make sure they fit though. Car is a 1300 mile drive from here so want to make sure I have everything right the next time.

One more question. Looked and found wheel bolts you mentioned, on Rock Auto. I seem to remember the left side were left hand thread? Is that a faulty remembrance? My Olds nuts are that way. Was thinking the Buick was also. Rock Auto doesn't list left hand threaded ones, so might be my horrible memory at work again. Checked the rims I have with the pin hole and they have a 3" center hole, probably won't work. In fact none of my rims with the correct bolt spacing are that big. Its alwas somethin.
