    Straight 8 modified

I like the modifications here. He eliminated the downdraft exhaust tube with those two small chrome boxes. What are they? And where do I find a lifter cover like that?

    Thanks

Brooklyn, that is a neat picture. May I ask where you found it? I would like to know more about it.

    Thanks

Those boxes are angled breathers by Mooneyes, they got finned ones too.

Lifter cover is definitely a custom job; the "Buick" emblem on it is one re-popped for wire wheels...pretty sweet!

Good eye krinkov58. That lifter cover is really nice.

This modified 53 Buick Special was at this years Dead Man's Curve car show in New Jersey. Take note of the exhaust headers, they run behind the front wheel.

I wonder where the guy got the HEI distributor? I was thinking of getting a nailhead HEI (as they look about the right length for a 263 etc) And you could put the straight 8 gear on it, shorten it if it needed it and redrill for the roll pin. I think the bottom part of the Straight Eight dizzy's unbolt anyway, so there's that.
