    Brake Drum

Hi, I was told my outer bearing cup is not held in tight on a 1967 Wildcat. Will the drum need to be replaced?

Assuming this is a front wheel bearing you are talking about, replace the hub, not the drum. You can use your old drum on the new hub.

    Brake Drum (Hub)

You might be able to salvage it. Wipe the bearing race and hub bore dry, drop the race in the hub and see if it has any noticable play side to side. If it doesn't rattle around in the bore, you can salvage by center punching it heavily all the way around and covering the seating area with divots which raise the metal around them. Degrease the race cup and hub, coat with Loctite and press in the race, wipe up the excess.

Loctite comes in various grades (colors) covering a range of strength and fill capabilities. I suppose you could even use JB weld but I would prefer Loctite. Once it sets up with no clearance it should last a long time.
