You need to have the ignition lock cylinder re-coded to match your key. Maybe your original key is worn out???

I have the original ignition lock but years ago I think someone tried to hotwire it but for some reason I can't get it into LOCK position, which is cool I can keep it on OFF position when not in use and move it into ON before stepping on the accelerator to fire it up, no problem.. but what do I need to do to get it to LOCK? If I change it out, get I get it to fit the same original key code (9015) which fits the door, trunk, glove box? 1960 was a one (octagonal) key fits all.. never needed or came with the rounded GM key..
